Unbeaten in the six matches prior to Saturday’s defeat at Bridlington Town, there are plenty of reasons to suggest that setback was little more than a blip, and United will be looking to return to their previous form in midweek. With ten points taken from their last five games, United have effectively earned a third of their season’s points tally in that short spell, peaking at a crucial stage of the campaign. The visitors sit nine points and seven places above Blyth Town in the table, with Tuesday night presenting an opportunity to pull further clear of the relegation zone.

"I think a draw is the minimum for what we expect, we will go there and work hard to keep a clean sheet and then if we can snatch a win then that would be even better. I just don't think we can afford to drop anymore points at this stage of the season."
