It’s been a slightly quieter month for the Juniors & Minis, but there’s still been plenty going on across the club! From wet-weather coaching sessions to flag-bearing moments and cup victories, here’s what’s been happening in October.
Coach Development
Our focus on coach development continues to grow, with another excellent turnout this month. Over 20 coaches braved the rain to take part in our latest session, exploring new coaching topics and techniques.
These sessions are designed to strengthen the Old Reds brand of rugby,#TheRedsWay. By sharing ideas, drills, and experience. Coaching is always better when we learn and grow together, and it’s fantastic to see so many of our volunteers investing their time in player development.
Under 10s Curtain Raiser
Before the 1st XV National League fixture against Lymm, our U10S took to the field for a curtain-raiser match against Old Bristolians. Thank you to our visitors for joining us!
There was some outstanding rugby on display, with plenty of smiles and great teamwork. After the match, the U10S proudly served as flag bearers for the 1st XV, helping create a brilliant matchday atmosphere.
Under 14s Cup Progression
A huge congratulations to our U14S, who have progressed through the opening round of the BJC Plate with a fantastic win against Thornbury.
Everyone at Old Reds is proud of the team’s effort, determination, and sportsmanship, keep it going lads, and continue to do the club proud!
Arrival of Our New Club Kit
This month saw the arrival of our brand-new club kit! Every age group will now proudly take the field in the same strip as our senior teams, a massive step forward for unity and club identity.
This has been a huge task to bring to life, with plenty of learning along the way. A special thank you to all of our sponsors who made it possible, in particular MCS, proudly displayed on every shirt across the club.
You can find out more about them here: https://mcsmc.co.uk/
Below are our newly formed Under 7s in their brand new kit, led by James Fairfield and sponsored by EasyFix.
