Harlow Town 2–1 Winslow United

Hawks Deliver Their Best Performance of the Season Against the League Leaders

Harlow Town produced their finest display of the campaign to overcome current league leaders Winslow United, combining discipline, intensity, and attacking quality in a performance that felt complete from start to finish. This was not a game won in short bursts—it was a full‑match effort built on organisation, bravery in possession, and relentless work rate.

First Half: Bright Start and Trading Blows
Harlow set the tone early, with Eri Akintimehin a constant menace down the left. His direct running repeatedly forced Winslow onto the back foot, while George Jessey offered calm, composed play on the right, giving the Hawks balance across the pitch.

The visitors struck first when George Kerr’s long‑range effort took a deflection and found the bottom corner. But Harlow responded almost immediately. Dwade James appeared to be fouled by the goalkeeper as he challenged for a loose ball, yet play continued long enough for Jack Cousins to react quickest and stab home the equaliser.

Winslow nearly regained the lead before the break when Ethan Flanagan rose at the far post, only to see his header bounce off the top of the woodwork.

Second Half: Resilience, Threat, and the Decisive Moment
After the interval, Harlow were forced to withstand sustained pressure from the league leaders. The defensive unit stood firm, showing organisation and determination, while still carrying a real threat on the counter.

The winning moment came from another moment of brilliance by Eri Akintimehin. Dancing past two defenders with superb close control, he was eventually brought down inside the box. Jack Cousins stepped up and confidently dispatched the penalty to complete his brace and turn the game in Harlow’s favour.

As the match entered its final stages, four of the five substitutes were introduced, adding fresh legs.

Team: Pellin, G Jessey, Simms (C), Jones, Ansen, Akintimehin, Pullen, Gruby, Akinola, Cousins, James
Subs: Krusinski, Steel, Kaikai, Ishaq Ameen, A Jessey
