Falmouth Town vs Bideford
Southern League Division One South
Tuesday 24th February 2026
7:45pm kick off
Bickland Park, Falmouth
Bideford look to bounce back from their defeat to Portishead at the weekend as they cross the border into Cornwall to take on Falmouth tonight.
The Robins performed admirably in defeat on Saturday in a match filled with controversy but were unable to find a late equaliser their play deserved on the day. The result means Bideford remain seven points above the drop zone in 15th, and five points above Falmouth who are currently 18th but have five games in hand on the Robins.
Falmouth haven’t hosted a game since 3rd January due to the adverse weather. That game saw them defeat Willand 3-0 at Bickland Park, but Town have lost all three games played since then on the road. They have however beaten Bideford twice this season already, both by a 2-1 scoreline in the league at the Sports Ground and in the FA Cup in Cornwall.
Bideford have not beaten Falmouth since a 2-1 win at Bickland Park in 1999, although there have only been four meetings between the sides since that day.

A Brief History of Falmouth Town AFC
Falmouth Town AFC were formed in 1949 and initially played in the Cornwall Senior League before becoming founding members of the South Western League in 1951/52. After a difficult first few years, Falmouth established themselves as one of the league’s top teams and were champions seven times between 1962 and 1974. In that period, Town also became the first Cornish side to reach the first round proper of the FA Cup, doing so on three occasions. They moved up to the Western League in 1974/75 and were crowned Western League champions four years in a row, making it eight successive championships (including the Southern Western League titles). Due to increasing travel costs, the club was forced to drop down to the Cornish Combination League in 1983. Town won the league title in 1983/84 which meant promotion back to the South Western League, where they remained until 2007, bringing their total of South Western League championships up to 14. Falmouth became founding members of the new South West Peninsula League Premier Division, where they played for 15 years before finally winning the league title in 2021/22. They were promoted back to the Western League Premier Division, finishing 7th in 2022/23 and runners-up in 2023/24 meaning promotion for the first time to the Southern League. Town finished in 9th place in 2024/25.
